 | | Do I need to see a Doctor of Chiropractic? | |
| | | These simple tests can help you determine whether you suffer from misalignment: Stand in front of a mirror. Examine your posture. Are your shoulders even or is one shoulder higher than the other? Does your head tilt? Is one hip higher than the other? Turn your head to the right and then to the left. Does your head turn equally far on both sides? Do you feel restricted on one side? Ask someone to watch you while you do it to see if you can turn your head further to one side. Lie face down and ask someone to look at the position of your heels. Are they even? Or does one leg appear shorter than the other? Feel your neck and shoulders. Compare the muscle tone in your neck and shoulders to the muscle tone in your bicep when your arm is relaxed. Do the muscles in your neck and shoulders feel relaxed and at ease? Or do they feel tense? A lack of balance and evenness in movement and posture might indicate that the spine is misaligned and that a visit to a Doctor of Chiropractic is in order. Other indications of misalignment include:
Sounds in the neck or back when moving.
Uneven wear in the heels of shoes
One foot flaring out when walking
Aches or pains in the head, neck, shoulders, arms, mid-back, low back, or down the legs. These simple tests can help you determine whether you suffer from misalignment: Stand in front of a mirror. | | | | | What is chiropractic? | | Chiropractic science is founded on extensive knowledge of the human central nervous system and its relationship to the functions of bodily systems, which includes virtually every cell, tissue, and organ in the body. Illness and disease result from nervous system function that is disrupted by improperly aligned bones in the spine. The goal of a doctor of chiropractic is to assist patients with acute or chronic health issues, beginning with a diagnosis based on an understanding of the structure and functions of the human body. After a diagnosis is made, a doctor of chiropractic will correct problems through spinal adjustments and will also guide and educate the patient about healthy lifestyle choices in order to maintain optimal physical well-being.
